Trip Overview

Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater & Serengeti National Park

6 Days Safari

The program is designed for a full four-day game drive, one day of which you will spend in the Tarangire, then Lake Manyara, in the Ngorongoro, and two days in the Serengeti. Serengeti National Park is considered a treasure of the world’s wildlife. The unique climatic conditions allow you to enjoy the incredible scenery, and you’ll be able to see resting lions, the secretive leopard, and graceful antelopes.

The advantage of this itinerary is that it gives more chances to see the rare representatives of the African fauna: pythons, gemsboks, elands, servals, caracals, secretary birds, crocodiles, black rhinos, and many others.

DAY 1

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

We proceed to Tarangire National Park for the game drive with a packed lunchbox. The Tarangire National Park is most popular for its large elephant herds and mini-wildlife migration that takes place during the dry season, which sees about 250,000 animals enter the park. After an extensive game drive, head to the camp for sundowners and to enjoy the views over the Tarangire river & Acacia woodlands plains while recounting tales of the day’s adventure.

DAY 2

Tarangire - Lake Manyara National Park

Early wake-up time, breakfast, and travel to Lake Manyara. The entire territory of this park is cut through with groundwater streams that provide a favourable environment for plants and, in addition, for a multitude of birds (including pink flamingos) and African forest animals.

Around lunchtime, you will visit the Maji Moto hot springs, and the driver will provide you with personal lunchboxes. After this stop, the safari will continue, and by evening, you will be transferred to a hotel. In Lake Manyara, you have an option to add extra activities like night game drive, canoeing, and a walking safari to feel the excitement of exploring the wild in Tanzania on foot.

DAY 3 - 4

Serengeti National Park Full Day Game Drive

After breakfast, you will start the safari by being transferred to the central part of the Serengeti (also called Seronera). Here, your driver will try to find the animals you’re most interested in. Closer to lunch time, you will visit the Serengeti Visitor Centre, where you will be offered a lunchbox and provided with lots of interesting information not only about the animals’ populations, but also about the history of the National Park. Also, in this area you will be able to see hyraxes, which are the elephant’s closest relatives.

It is difficult to describe in detail all the animals of the Serengeti plains, for they number in the thousands: elephants, buffalo, ostriches, giraffes, jackals, hyenas, lions, antelopes, leopards, and cheetahs—just keep your eyes peeled and enjoy the nature around you.

In the evening, you will be transferred to a lodge, where you will have dinner and be able to rest.

DAY 5

Serengeti - Ngorongoro Highlands

After breakfast in the morning, you will safari in the southern parts of the park. The greater part of these areas is a savanna with wide open spaces, which provides a likely opportunity to see cheetah hunting antelopes. On this day, you also have an option to visit the Maasai tribe and Olduvai Gorge at an additional cost. The Oldupai Gorge is one of the most important archaeological sites on Earth. The geological strata exposed in the gorge reveal a remarkable record of animal and human evolution from about two million until fifteen thousand years ago.

By early afternoon, you will finish the safari and return to the hotel in Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

DAY 5

Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

On this day, it is best to leave the hotel as early as possible so you can see the variety of animals that are only active during the morning hours. At 6:30 AM, you will set off for Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and after about an hour, you will already be inside the crater.

Ngorongoro is one of the most famous and interesting of Tanzania’s national parks because here you can find the greatest number of different animal species per square kilometer. You will have the chance to see buffalo, elephants, lions, wildebeests, zebras, hippopotamus, and feline species such as caracals and servals. The luckiest travelers might even see a rhinoceros, an animal whose numbers are rapidly declining.
